Locals raise $15,281 during “Give DeKalb County”

Tanzania Development SupportĀ received $15,281 from the May 4 Give DeKalb County fundraising event, which is a 24-hour fundraising event used to “build community, encourage philanthropy, connect donors to nonprofits and raise awareness about the nonprofit sector…”. This money will be used to further TDS’s mission to improve the quality of life of youth, especially girls, in the Mara region by supporting primary and secondary school improvements and other community-identified priorities.

Out of the money raised, 38 people donated $13,610 and the DeKalb County Community Foundation donated about $1,600 of its “bonus pool.” TDS was the 7th highest fundraiser out of 83 nonprofits participating.

Tanzania Development Support would like to thank all donors for participating in Give DeKalb County. Check back for updates on our projects!
