4H Career Pathways Expo

Parents and community members gather around a table where students talk about learning how to make handmade products like jewelry, bags, and doormats.

Earlier this month, student members of the 4H Career Pathways (4HCP) clubs at multiple schools had an opportunity to showcase the skills they have been developing. An exposition was held at Etaro Secondary School and members of the community were invited to come learn about the clubs and their activities. Crowds of parents and other curious members of the community attended the event where students and 4HCP Coordinator, John Kuboja, explained and demonstrated what the clubs have been up to.

Activities that students were most excited to show off were:

  • School gardens and recently harvested crops

  • How to use foldable microscopes to view plants and plant structures up close

  • The process of making hand soap, with some parents purchasing some for their homes

  • Handmade door mats embroidered with the 4HCP emblem

This year’s expo was the largest in the eight year history of the 4HCP program and a demonstration of the incredible work that your donations are supporting. Hongera sana (congratulations) to the students, teachers, and John Kuboja for a successful exposition. We look forward to seeing more wonderful updates in the new year.

Please consider making a donation to the 4HCP program today. Your compassionate gift to TDS will support afterschool clubs that are providing students with skills to support themselves, developing confidence, and making schools healthier.
